Meet Laetitia Ky, the Ivorian artist who can transform her braids into all kinds of shapes - anything you can imagine! She hails from Côte d'Ivoire, in West Africa.

It usually takes her a couple of hours to create her masterpieces like this Snowman she made for Christmas, but the results are always amazing!

DISAPPEARING SCULPTURES by Julian Voss-Andreae

Julian Voss-Andreae (born 15 August 1970) is a German sculptor living and working in the U.S.

Voss-Andreae’s work is heavily influenced by his background in science. His work includes protein sculptures, such as Angel of the West (2008), a large-scale outdoor sculpture for the Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter, Florida portraying the human antibody molecule, a sculpture for Nobel laureate Roderick MacKinnon based on the ion channel structure, and the quantum physics-inspired Quantum Man (2006).

Drawing inspiration from Voss-Andreae's background in physics, Quantum Man is the image of a walking man seen as a quantum object. Made up of over a hundred vertically oriented steel sheets, the 8′ (2.50 m) tall sculpture provides a metaphor for the counter-intuitive world of quantum physics. Symbolizing the dual nature of matter, the sculpture seems to consist of solid steel when seen from the front but nearly disappears when seen from the side, as light shines through the spaces between the slabs.

In 2007, Voss-Andreae created a second version called Quantum Man 2 in stainless steel.

BOOKS Turned Into LANDSCAPED Works of Art by Guy Laramée

Canadian artist, Guy Laramée is famous for his 3D mountains and other aerial-looking landscapes carved into repurposed books with encyclopedias and dictionaries being his favourite mediums to work with. He carves these amazing works of art using a sandblaster to which he later applies oil paints, inks, pigments and dry pastels, crayon, adhesives, and beeswax.

The SELFISH AND DEVOTED Watering Can Design

This SELFISH AND DEVOTED watering can design was created by New York designer Deger Cengiz. It is an apparatus that combines a watering can and a plant pot, while causing a selfish and devoted relationship between them.

The spout is positioned so that water falls directly into the adjoining plant pot when the watering can is tilted. The angle of the pot causes the plant to grow away from the spout.

But it's not just his photoshopping skill that has risen him to fame. It's his great sense of humour. He will photoshop your request - but be careful what you ask for, or how you ask for it - because you just might get it!

Belgian Artist's Amazing SHADOW SKETCHES

This artist's talent goes on and on forever on his Instagram site. He's so full of ingenious, inspired and imaginative thoughts that he is able to create so many awesome sketches, out of shadow - and everyday objects. It's like, if there's a shadow, he'll be able to create a sketch out of it. Amazing!

Earlier this year, Belgian film-maker and artist Vincent Bal stumbled upon an uncanny resemblance to an elephant in the shadow of his tea cup. This gave him the idea for Shadowology, a series of doodles that interact with the shadows of simple, everyday objects: a banknote, some ice cubes and a flower, for example, can turn into a church, a woman and a hippy.

“I draw a few lines and I get my image. It’s really the shadows that inspire me,” Bal says.

TRASH to Stunning ANIMAL SCULPTURES by Artist Bordalo II

Amazing! Where we see trash, this artist sees art and uses his artistic talent and incredible skills to spread his message about endless waste production by creating some of the most stunning animal sculptures out of plastic and metal waste.

Therefore, unlike most artist, Portuguese street artist Bordalo II (Artur Bordalo) doesn't have to buy his material - he scavenges it. He seeks to portray nature (animals) with the materials that threaten it, using the walls on streets and other outdoor surroundings as his canvas.

The Animated SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORM PHOTOS by Mike Hollingshead

Animated cinematography of any kind are always awesome so coming across these animated supercell thunderstorm photos by weather photographer Mike Hollingshead was a delight! He has turned to Photoshop to create his already amazing images into something even more dramatic.

These animated photos though, according to Hollingshead, aren’t created like more traditional cinemagraphs, where moving elements from a video are isolated and the rest of the image is masked out. Instead, he uses only a static image and creates the animation from thin air. Amazing!

The HYPERREALIST SCULPTORS of RON MUECK

Just when you think they couldn't get better, meet life-like sculpturist Ron Mueck.

Ronald "Ron" Mueck is an Australian hyperrealist sculptor working in the United Kingdom.

Ron was born in Australia to German parents. He began his career working on the Australian children's television program Shirl's Neighbourhood. He was the creative director and made, voiced and operated the puppets Greenfinger the Garden Gnome, Ol' Possum, Stanley the snake and Claude the Crow amongst many others. The show was made for Channel 7 Melbourne between 1979 and 1984, broadcast nationally and starred the ex-lead singer of Skyhooks, Graeme "Shirley" Strachan.

Mueck's early career was as a model maker and puppeteer for children's television and films, notably the film Labyrinth for which he also contributed the voice of Ludo, and the Jim Henson series The Storyteller.
Mueck moved on to establish his own company in London, making photo-realistic props and animatronics for the advertising industry. Although highly detailed, these props were usually designed to be photographed from one specific angle hiding the mess of construction seen from the other side. Mueck increasingly wanted to produce realistic sculptures which looked perfect from all angles.

In 1996 Mueck transitioned to fine art, collaborating with his mother-in-law, Paula Rego, to produce small figures as part of a tableau she was showing at the Hayward Gallery. Rego introduced him to Charles Saatchi who was immediately impressed and started to collect and commission work. This led to the piece which made Mueck's name, Dead Dad, being included in the Sensation show at the Royal Academy the following year. Dead Dad is a silicone and mixed media sculpture of the corpse of Mueck's father reduced to about two thirds of its natural scale. It is the only work of Mueck's that uses his own hair for the finished product.

CARICATURES AND ILLUSTRATIONS BY Nithin Rao Kumblekar

Nithin Rao Kumblekar, from Bangalore, India, began his career as an Art Director for advertising agencies such as McCann, Ogilvy & Triton but after some time decided to branch out on his own to become a freelancer.

Nithin’s passion for illustration started early, continued through school and since thereafter. During his school days, he would copy from magazines and posters and recreate his versions with his own unique style.

Since then, Nithin has worked for many advertising agents and corporate clients such as Vodafone, Allen Solly, Britannia, Bingo, Kingfisher, IBM, Lenovo, TVS, ING Vysya Bank.. etc have all used his illustrations.

Nithin graduated from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat in Bangalore and did a BFA in Applied Arts. But as he recalls, his actual training started right in his school days when he met artist Punchitaya,who later guided him to the college in Bangalore where he would do his specialization. 

When a brief is presented to him, he usually sets about attempting to chart the best possible way to illustrate the idea, followed by rough sketches which he admits can only be understood by him alone. He later fine tunes it to fit what the client requires.

As for his personal style, Nithin believes he’s good at drawing people. Landscapes don’t interest him much. He is a great fan of Michael Parkes. “Other than him, there are many online artists whose work I admire. Only a few names among these are famous like, say, Jason Seiler,” he adds. Nithin says he goes online for inspiration. Behance, Deviantart, Abduzeedo are some of the sites he frequents on a daily basis. -  Kyoorius

When ART and TRAGEDY COLLIDES – A Masterpiece BY EMMA HACK

Adelaide body painter Emma Hack took 18 hours to create her latest masterpiece, which uses 17 men and women to illustrate the dangers and trauma caused by speeding drivers.

The stunning piece of art was the brainchild of advertising agency Clemenger BBDO Adelaide and part of the Motor Accident Commission’s new campaign, targeting low-level speeders.
